So exhausted. Literally, everyday we get home I just plop on the couch…soo worth it though. The past few days have been packed from early morning to late evening. Two of my sisters got in earlyyy Sunday morning around 4:30AM. No sleep! With these two, pretty much non stop laughter as we caught up.
Breakfast Sunday morning was my FAV…dosa. After breakfast, we went shopping pretty much all day until the evening. Hours of shopping for saris, kurtas, churidars, lenghas, kurti churidar and a bunch of other stuff. I really enjoyed learning the difference in the type of clothes, especially the fabrics for the saris (georgette, chiffon, crape, raw silk and so much more). Got some great stuff (lovee my hammer pants!), buut, I still need my sari for the wedding in GOA this weekend (ahhhh!). Yep, as some of you know, part of the reason I came to India is for my cousin’s wedding. Me and the fam are flying out on Thursday AM (I think fifteen of us on the same flight…so many, right?)…should be a pretty awesome trip. CAN’T WAIT. #1day countdown.
We finally got home, took a quick nap then got ready for dinner. My dad’s elder sister hosted an amazing dinner with some of their favorite Hyderabadi dishes: haleem, dum ka chicken biryani, dum aloo, baghara baingan, paratha, raita and a couple other things I’m forgetting and for dessert, one of my dad’s favs growing up, double ka meetha (kind of like bread pudding but with saffron and pistachio and more amazingness), and fresh homemade almond kulfi. Good times with the fam and the perfect way to the end the night I thought. Nottt.
I forgot there was a celebration at the Secunderabad Club (one of the five oldest Clubs in India — no pics allowed or else i would share) with live music, food, dancing, artisanal goods, etc. We could hear the live music from my aunty and uncle’s porch and everyone wanted to stop by. I was being the oldie in the group, wanted to stay in and chill/do some work, but I sucked it up and went. So happy I did! It was winding down when we got there but chilled with the fam and came across a lovely turquoise necklace and custom leather bags 😀 Custom kind of artsy type leather bag coming soon…I’ll have to share more on this later!
Pretty much, fam, food and shopping made up this entire day. No complaints though. Live. Laugh, Love. It’s a blessing!
❤
